James Truman Bufford, departed this life and entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 25, 2019 at his home in Lancaster, South Carolina. A son of the late Boysie and Edna Rutledge Bufford was born in Lancaster, SC on September 4, 1945.
James confessed his faith at an early age and joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. He was united in holy matrimony to Lula Harris Bufford who preceded him in death and they enjoyed many years together.
James affectionately known as “Truman” that no one knew him as James was
educated in the Lancaster County School System and attended Hillside High School. After high school he worked at Springs Iron Foundry in Lancaster and retired after many years of dedicated service.
Truman embraced life he enjoyed working on cars of which he claimed to be one of the best. He was also known for his love of the outdoors. He loved to hunt and farm and took great pride in his crop. He also loved sports especially baseball and football and was an avid Carolina Panther fan. His pleasure was being the coach of the Bank of Lancaster baseball team. His passion was being in the company of his family mainly his grandchildren and friends. Truman was a warm and loving person he lived his life to the fullest always willing to give and to serve. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish these and other memories are two sons, James D. Bufford (Regenald Dawkins) Lancaster, SC, Travanti S. Bufford (Natoya) of Lancaster, SC, three daughters Beverly B. Blackmon (Obie) of Lancaster, SC, Venessa Bufford of Lancaster, SC, Nina B. Brown (Augustus) of Lexington, SC, one sister, Pasty B. Mackey of Lancaster, SC, twelve grandchildren, Sierra, Lakira, Marcus, Arineshia, Montrai, Kobe, Tajhman, Alela, Verica, Amina, Augustus V., Calab, two great grandchildren, Kingston, Cattleya, God kids, Renee Bufford, Christopher Mackey, Pete Bufford, Jamar Smith, god brother, David Harris
