Alfred Lee Anthony Jr. humbly surrendered to God’s will and quietly entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Springdale Health Care Center in Camden South Carolina.
The son of the late Alfred Lee Sr. and Margie Patterson Anthony was born in Lancaster County, South Carolina on May 17, 1953.
Alfred was preceded in death by a sister Glendora Anthony, a brother, Christopher Russell Anthony, and a nephew Christoper Anthony.
He accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Heath Springs, SC where he enjoyed many years of faithful service.
Alfred was educated in the Lancaster County School District where he attended Hillside and graduated from Andrew Jackson High School, Class of 1972. Alfred (a.k.a. as BooBoo) was a very compassionate and loving person. He loved going to church and singing in the choir. Alfred loved being around his family and friends laughing and eating any kind of sweet cakes. Alfred loved watching football, the Washington Commanders formerly the Redskins was his team (Maybe because his brother would always bring him free Commanders items from Washington D.C.) Also Alfred was a car enthusiast. He loved detailing cars when he was younger and when someone got a new car, he would have to completely check it inside and out. Alfred suffered a life altering stroke at the early age of thirty-two years old, but he never gave up on himself, he kept going until he could notanymore. Alfred was very humble and did not complain much. Some of his last words while he was in the hospital were “God is still faithful.
Left to share these and other memories are: his daughter, Angie D Drakeford of Kershaw, S.C.; two sons, Scottie Harris (Erica) of Charlotte, NC; Lavon Reddick of Bishopville SC; one sister, Jeanette K. Mobley (Sammie) of Rock Hill SC ; two brothers, Herman K Anthony (Melanie) of Bethune SC, Marion D. Anthony (Jackie) of Lorton VA; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
The Family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Mr. Layton Stover for his love and support to Alfred throughout the years he has known him and during this bereavement process.
