Angela Marie Thompson, a cherished leader, devoted servant, and beloved member of her community was a daughter of Ruby Nell Davis and the late Arnold Thompson and the late Bernard Davis was born October 14, 1962 in Lancaster, SC. She departed this life on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Atrium Heath in Monroe, NC.
Angela, known affectionately as "Angie," was a woman of faith, compassion, and commitment who dedicated her life to the service of others, especially to the youth and children in her care.She was a devoted member of Mt. Zion AME Zion Church where she accepted the duties as a responsible member. Angela served as the District Director of Children for the Lancaster District Youth and Young Adult Mass Choir, where her love for music and youth ministry touched the hearts of countless children. She also directed the Pee Dee Conference Children and Youth Choir, which combined the youth of the Lancaster and Cheraw-Bennettsville Districts. Her influence in these roles went beyond music; she was a mentor and guiding light for many young lives. In addition to her work with the youth, Angela was an active member of the Women's Home and Overseas Missionary Society (WHOMS)in the Lancaster District, where she held the role of Communion Offering Chairperson. Her passion for missions was evident in her leadership of numerous ministries, including Ms. Hen Cover My Children (Foster Parents through DSS), The Bee Hive, and I'm Loved(Lancaster Convalescent Home). Her care for the vulnerable and those in need was boundless. In 2023, Angela proudly served as the Lay Person for Mt. Zion, a position she held with great honor and humility. Her dedication to her church and community was a testament to her unwavering faith and servant's heart.
Angie was a 1981 graduate of Lancaster, High School and continued her education at Covenant Bible College.
Angela's life was a beautiful reflection of her devotion to her faith, her family, and her community. Her legacy of service, love, and leadership will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the countless lives she touched throughout her journey.
Left to cherish these and other memories are two daughters, Lenitta Truesdale and MakiyhaTruesdale both of Lancaster, SC, three sons, LaDarius Truesdale (Keisha), Tyshon Truesdale and Deshon Truesdale all of Lancaster, SC, her mother Ruby Nell Davis of Lancaster, SC, one sister, Jackie Thompson of Lancaster, SC, two brothers, Patrick Thompson and Arnold Thompson both of Lancaster, SC, twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren, special aunt Evelyn Cooper of Lancaster , SC and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
