Anita Audrea Thompson, respectfully bowed to God’s will and quietly entered in
to eternal rest on Saturday, August 24, 2024 in Duke University Hospital in
Durham, North Carolina.
She confessed her faith at an early age and was raised in a Christian environment.
She was a member of Ebenezer AME Zion Church. She will be missed but not
forgotten.
Anita was the daughter of the late Grover Thompson and the late Dorothy Ann
Patterson and was born on March 12, 1968. In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by her grandmother Rufus and Annie Blanche Patterson who
raised her.
Anita was educated in the Kershaw County School District and graduated in 1986
from North Central High School. She continued her education at York Technical
College in Rock Hill, SC. She worked various job before she was employed by
Nutramax Laboratories Inc in Lancaster, SC. She was a dedicated employee until
her health failed.
Anita was a quite spirited, easy-going person who loved family and friends. She
embraced life and was very witty in her conversation. She was very passionate
about everything she did, she will be missed by many families and friends.
She leaves to cherish fond memories, three brothers, Floyd Patterson of Haleden,
NJ, Earle Patterson of Bishopville, SC, Jarrod Patterson (Dean) of Rock Hill, SC, two
daughters, Marketta Jones of Lancaster, SC, Jasmine Davis of Van Wyck, SC, god
son, Andrew Truesdale, two sisters, Denise Drakeford (Ronnie) of Camden, SC,
Terri Renee Patterson of Columbus, GA, five aunts, Ann Patterson of Kershaw, SC,
Margie Patterson of Halden, NJ, Betty Jean Patterson of Kershaw, SC, Inez
(Morris) Truesdale of Heath Springs, SC, Margaret Stinson of Pennsylvania, four
grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
