Anna Shaw Cockfield, 86, peacefully passed away on January 7, 2026. She was born on October 16, 1939, to the late Augusta Shaw and the late Lucille Fowler.
Anna was preceded in death by her loving husband, Nathan Cockfield. She was educated in Baltimore, Maryland, and dedicated many years of her life to working in the healthcare field before retiring.
A woman of warmth and joy, Anna enjoyed singing, attending church, meeting new people, watching television, and participating in activities at the Senior Citizen Center. Above all, she treasured spending time with her family and friends, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Left to cherish her fond memories are two sons, Eugene Allen (Brenda) of Baltimore, MD, and Eric Blackmon (Kim) of Egypt; one brother, Sylvester Shaw of Baltimore, MD; one sister, Elizabeth "Betty" McDaniel of Baltimore, MD; seventeen grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren. She is also lovingly remembered by her special grandson and caretaker, Christopher Blackmon. The family extends special thanks to her friend Mary, Tarone and Kiana Venson for the excellent care and kindness shown to Anna.
In addition to her husband, Anna was preceded in death by two sons, Kevin Allen and Mack Blackmon; three brothers, John Shaw, Alexander Shaw, and Nathan Shaw; and three sisters, Mary Woodrup, Doris Hunter, and Hannah Venson.
Anna Shaw Cockfield will be remembered for her loving spirit, gentle heart, and the lasting impact she made on all who knew her.
