Azalee Thompson Ealey Obituary

Mrs. Azalee Cornelia Thompson Ealey, affectionately known as "Na-Na" and "Mama Al," departed this life on May 28, 2026, in Lancaster, South Carolina. Born on August 5, 1967, she was the beloved daughter of the late James Thompson II and the late Carrie Cornelius Thompson.

Azalee was a devoted woman of faith and a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, where she faithfully supported the ministry and remained deeply connected to her church family. She was a dedicated leader within her family, serving as Chairperson of the South Carolina Chapter of the Crockett and Watts Family and President of the Cornelius Family Reunion, helping to preserve family bonds and traditions for future generations.

She received her education in the Lancaster County School District and was a proud graduate of Lancaster High School, Class of 1985.

Azalee was united in marriage to James Ealey for twenty five years.

Known for her vibrant personality and love for people, Azalee never met a stranger. She was a sports enthusiast and a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan who enjoyed watching football and basketball games. She loved traveling, especially spending time at the beach, where she found peace and joy. Azalee also enjoyed talking on the phone, scrolling through social media, and faithfully going live during her son DeJarvis's church services so others could share in the worship experience.

One of her greatest joys was caring for children. She cherished every moment spent babysitting her grandchildren and took special pride in potty training each of them, as well as many other children who came to know and love her. Her nurturing spirit, patience, and unconditional love earned her the affectionate titles of "Na-Na" and "Mama Al" from many whose lives she touched.

Azalee leaves to cherish her precious memories: her husband, JamesEaley of Lancaster, SC, three sons, Demarcus Thompson (Beonca), DeJarvis Thompson, and Dedric Thompson, all of Lancaster, South Carolina; one daughter, Alexis Hayden of Lancaster, South Carolina; two stepsons, Jarriel Ealey and Jamorise Ealey both of Georgia, two brothers, Leon Thompson (Keri) of Monroe, North Carolina, and James Thompson III (Tierra) of Toledo, Ohio; one sister, Paula Thompson of Houston, Texas; ten beloved grandchildren; and special friends, Merrieal Knox, Shelli White, Tiffany Campbell, ShniqueCrockett, Octavia Schuyler, and Pam Hubbard.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by those family members who welcomed her into eternal rest.

Though her earthly journey has ended, the love, laughter, wisdom, and countless memories Azalee shared will remain forever in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her. Her legacy of faith, family devotion, and compassionate care will continue to inspire generations to come.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." Matthew 25:23
