Bettina Thompson Obituary

Bettina JaVon Thompson humbly bowed to GOD’s will and peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday Oct 15, 2023 at her home here in Lancaster, SC. Bettina was the daughter of the late Fulton Thompson Jr, the late Lenda Lois Thompson, and Bonus Mother Gloria Diane Thompson was born June 22, 1979 in Charlotte, NC.

Bettina Thompson accepted Christ at an early age and was an active member of Bright Light Baptist Church during that time. She attended Sunday School on a regular with her MotherLenda and siblings, was a member of the Usher Board, and was also a member of the “famous” Bright Light Choir Lights led by the remarkable Aunt Patsey Cauthen, Special Aunt Sara Glen Vinson and Teresa Anthony!

Bettina was educated in the Lancaster County School District and graduated from Lancaster High School in 1997. Bettina was an awesome dresser who always gave her sister tips on what to wear and what not to wear☺. Bettina had a natural knack for styling hair, so she kept her hair fly and did styles for her family and friends as well. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Bettina babysat little ones at home, worked with kids at Terrika Alexander’s Youth Innovations  Afterschool Program and Fresh Anointing Childcare. Bettina was pretty good at “PHASE 10” and would unleash beatdowns on competitors during rounds of the game. Bettina was small in stature, but had a hearty appetite and enjoyed eating her Aunt Kat’s cooking (cornbread and cabbage) on a regular. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish these memories are her Bonus Mom Gloria Diane Thompson of Ft. Mill, SC, Brother Maceo Thompson (Niketta) of Rincon, GA, Brother Tyrek Pelham of Greenville SC, Sister Martina T. Carter (Jamie) of Columbia, SC, Sister Tyese Crawford (David) of Rock Hill, SC, Uncle and Aunt O.C and Katherine Tate, Uncle Thomas Billy Cauthen, Aunt Ruby McCain, Uncle and Aunt Mike and Mary Cunningham, Uncle and Aunt Robert and Tammie White, Uncle and Aunt Otis and Francenia Lathan, Uncle and  Aunt Othello and Clementine Alexander, Aunt Rebecca Thompson, and Aunt Mary Helen Henderson who all reside in Lancaster, SC, three nieces and two nephews, and a host of cousins, relatives, and friends.
