Mrs. Betty Jean Walls, 71, of Lancaster, SC, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025. She was born on December 16, 1953, in Chester County, SC, to Mary Elizabeth Smith and the late Roosevelt Caldwell.
Betty Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was married to John Willie Walls, her devoted husband and companion. A faithful attendee of Red Hill Baptist Church, she lived a life rooted in love, faith, and service to others.
Known for her caring heart and exceptional skills in the kitchen, Betty Jean found her greatest joy in spending time with her family. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the wonderful aroma of her home-cooked meals. She was a steadfast presence, always ready with a kind word, a plate of food, and a heart full of love.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, John Willie Walls; a daughter, Sabrina Caldwell of Lancaster, SC; a son, John Michael Walls (Bernice) of Great Falls, SC; three sisters, Barbara Mcllwain, Brenda Coleman, and Florie Caldwell, all of Lancaster, SC; two brothers, Sammy Caldwell of Great Falls, SC, and Frank Caldwell of Lancaster, SC; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her special friend, Anna Frazier Witherspoon; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.
Betty Jean was preceded in death by her father, Roosevelt Caldwell, two sisters, Rosa Mae Howze, Claudia Simpson, three brothers, Robert Caldwell, Otis Caldwell, Rickey Caldwell.
Her legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know her.
