Darlene P. Gallman

Darlene Player Gallman, 67, of Lancaster, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 2, 2026. She was born on July 13, 1958, and was the beloved daughter of the late Jessie Laton Player and the late Shirley Elizabeth Clark. Darlene was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and the Gathering Community Church, where she found strength in her faith and fellowship. She was united in marriage to Lonnie William Gallman, Jr., who preceded her in death. She was educated in the Lancaster County School District and was a proud graduate of Lancaster High School. Darlene retired from P&G Duracell after many years of dedicated and faithful service, taking great pride in her accomplishments and work ethic. In her leisure time, Darlene found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed doing crafts, sewing, reading, gardening, seashell hunting, sitting around campfires, and riding motorcycles. Her warm spirit, loving heart, and creative nature made her a joy to be around. Truly, to know her was to love her, and she was loved by many. Left to cherish her fond and loving memories are one daughter, Stephanie Elaine Childress of Cassatt, South Carolina; one son, Rocky Gallman (Amanda) of Lancaster, South Carolina; two sisters, Elizabeth Morrison of Rockingham, North Carolina, and Julie Marie Catoe (Steve) of Heath Springs, South Carolina; six grandchildren; Kendra Truesdale of Lancaster, SC; Jennifer Ardis (Jonathan) of Bethune, SC; Angela Childress of Cassatt, SC; Alyssa and Lex Gallman of Lancaster, SC; and Dixie Gallman from Great Falls, SC and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Darlene was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Laton Player. Her legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
