Delorise White James

Mrs. Delorise White James, age 76, entered into eternal rest on June 24, 2026, at MUSC Health in Lancaster, South Carolina.

Born on July 21, 1949, in New Bern, North Carolina, she was the beloved daughter of the late Cleveland White, Sr. and the late Victoria Bell White.

Delorise was united in holy matrimony to Henry C. James who preceded her in death.

Delorise was a lady of faith and was baptized atBeaver Creek Baptist Church in Liberty Hill, South Carolina. She received her education through the Yonkers, New York, Westchester County School System. She later enjoyed a distinguished career with the Prince George's County, Maryland, Board of Education, where she retired as an Administrator after many years of dedicated and faithful service.

She was known for her generous spirit and compassionate heart. Delorise was a devoted supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, reflecting her lifelong commitment to helping others. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose kindness and warmth touched the lives of many.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories, five nephews raised as her sons, Catoe James (Helen), Steffron James (Sheryl), Maurice James (Patrina), Chris James (Stacie) and Corey James, one sister, Betty White of Lancaster, South Carolina; two brothers, Cleveland White, Jr. of Bronx, New York, and Eddie White of Tampa, Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.

Delorise was preceded in death by her parents, Cleveland White, Sr., and her mother, Victoria Bell White, and husband, Henry C. James.

Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
