Dorothy Ann Moore Goode, also known as ‘Lil Sister’, peacefully entered eternal rest in the presence of her family at the Transitions LifeCare Hospice Home in Raleigh, NC. Dorothy is the daughter of the late Rev. McKinley Moore, Sr. and Margaret Thompson Moore. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Goode, Sr.
Dorothy accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Second Calvary Baptist Church.
Dorothy was educated in the Lancaster County school system and graduated from Hillside High School in 1959. She was actively engaged in school activities earning high grade honors and was named Miss Hillside during her final year of high school. After graduation, she moved to New Jersey to begin the next chapter of her life. She attended Bergen Community College where she studied Word Processing in an effort to further develop her career. Ultimately, she retired from Lantis Eyewear Corporation in 2005 where she worked in Quality Control.
Dorothy enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards and doing crossword puzzles. She had a beautiful, kind spirit and everyone enjoyed being in her presence. To know her was to love her.
Left to cherish loving memories are her twin sister, Margaret Alston (‘Big Sister’) of Raleigh, NC, niece and caretaker, Bridgette Walls (Frank) of Raleigh, NC, niece Regina Brown of Charlotte, NC, special friend, Erica Thompson and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her three brothers, John Lee Moore, Oliver Lee Moore and McKinley Moore, Jr.
