Eddie Segars Jr.

Mr. Eddie James Segars Jr., age 58, entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 28,
2025, in Monroe, NC. Born on June 4, 1966, in Queens, New York, he was the
beloved son of the late Eddie J. Segars Sr. and Mildred Warren Segars.
Eddie grew up in Lancaster, SC, and was a proud graduate of Lancaster High
School Class of 1984. He was employed as a security officer for Allied University, where his dependable and kind spirit earned him the respect of his colleagues and all those he
encountered.
Eddie was married to the love of his life, Shirlene McClure Segars. Together, they
built a life centered around love, family, and friendship. Eddie was a man who
enjoyed simple pleasures — spending time at home, watching television, and
playing Xbox brought him great joy. His calm demeanor and ready smile made
him a treasured presence among family and friends.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Shirlene McClure Segars; a devoted daughter,
Stephanie Davis of Gastonia, NC; two sons, Eric (Tiffany) McClure and Matthew
(Nicole) Davis, both of Bessemer City, NC; and six adored grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren who will cherish his memory.
Eddie is also survived by his sisters-in-law: Becky McClure of Kings Mountain,
NC, Patricia Lowery (Earl) of Atlanta, GA, and Marlene McClure of Gastonia,
NC; and his brothers-in-law: Paul Ikenburg of Charlotte, NC, and James McClure
(Sherry) of Gastonia, NC.
Special lifelong friends, Kenny Hayden, Roger Mackey, and Mr. and Mrs. Yearby,
will remember Eddie's loyalty, humor, and the joy he brought into their lives.
Eddie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him, but we find comfort
knowing he is now at peace.
