Ella Mae Frazier, 83, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and a
beautifully maintained home. She was the daughter of the late Spencer Rutledge and the late Ella
Drakeford Rutledge was born February 15, 1941 in Kershaw County. She had a natural passion
for cleanliness, Ella believed that “cleanliness is next to godliness,” and she took great pride in
creating a welcoming space for her family.
Ella was raised in a Christian environment and excepted Christ at an early age. She was a
member of Gods Holy Temple of which she was the Mother of the Church. She served on the
Deaconess Board, Pastor’s Aid Committee.
Ella was united in holy matrimony to James Carter Frazier Sr. for sixty dedicated years he
preceded her in death.
She was educated in the Kershaw County School District and was retired from Springs Industries
as a Weaver.
Ella was not just a homemaker; she was the heart of her family. Her daily cooking was a labor of
love, highlighted by her special homemade biscuits and fresh garden salads that brought
everyone together around the table. Sunday evenings were a cherished ritual for Ella, often spent
listening to Jimmy Swaggart's sermons on the big screen, her spirit uplifted by the gospel music
that filled her home.
An avid DIY enthusiast, Ella loved making home improvements. From redesigning rooms to
painting both inside and out, her creativity transformed her living space into a warm and inviting
haven. Whether shopping in-store or online, she always sought ways to enhance her home’s
beauty.
Ella Mae Frazier will be remembered not only for her immaculate home but for the warmth she
shared with everyone around her. She leaves behind a family who will carry her love and lessons
forward. Her survivors include, two sons, James Carter Frazier Jr. (Cynthia) of New York,
Elmore Frazier of Lancaster, SC, three daughters, Margret Culp (Lorenzo), Doctor Nancy
Frazier, Kisa Alexander all of Lancaster, SC, two sisters, Carrie Turne of Camden, SC, Sandra
Shields of Heath Springs, SC, two brothers, Spencer Rutledge II (Ida Brooks) of Camden, SC,
fifteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, special niece, Pearl Tharaeparambil , sister in
law, Marcine Catoe of Lancaster, SC, special friend, Glenda Catoe and Margaret Tucker
She is proceeded in death by her husband, two grandsons; DeMarco Frazier and Dondre
Alexander, a brother, Willie Rutledge, three sisters, Gwendolyn Valentine, Nancy Rutledge,
Clara Ricks.
