Ella Jane Stewart, age 87, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on October 2, 2024. A daughter of the late Rev.James D. Clyburn and the late Mary Mobley Clyburn was born on September 8, 1937 in Lancaster County, South Carolina.
A devoted homemaker, Ella was known for her gentle spirit, love for family, and unwavering faith. She was a longtime member of Macedonia Baptist Church and Life Study Fellowship Ministries, where she found joy in praise, worship, and service.
Ella was united in holy matrimony to Louis B. Stewart who preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Barr Street High School and of the Lancaster County Vocational High School.
Ella's creative talents were a blessing to those around her. She enjoyed writing heartfelt poems, creating beautiful art, and nurturing her garden, especially her love of flowers. Her home was often filled with the delightful aromas of her cooking, and her kitchen was a gathering place for family and friends. A woman of deep faith, she spent countless hours in devotional reading and was active in tele ministries, always sharing her wisdom and prayers with others.
Ella's life was a reflection of her faith, her love for God, and her dedication to her family and community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by a son, Pastor, Rev. Alan L. Stewart (Gwendolyn), two daughters, Janesta E. Stewart of Lancaster, SC, Millicent Arlene Seibles (Carnell) of Columbia, SC, ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren and host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon M. Adams, a brother, James D. Clyburn, two sisters, Willie Mae Watts, Lois Jean Parker.
