Eric "Pappy" McPhearson

Eric Dwight McPhearson, 62, passed away peacefully at his home in Lancaster, South Carolina, on June 11, 2026.

Born on March 6, 1964, in Islip, New York, he was the son of Jesse Lewis McPhearson, Jr. and Flora Elizabeth Evans McPhearson. Eric was a member of the Baptist faith and was the owner and operator of E&C Painting. He was a hardworking businessman who took great pride in his work and in serving his community.

Eric's greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his love, kindness, and devotion to those closest to him.

In addition to his parents, Eric is survived by his two daughters, Elizabeth McPhearson (Ronnie) and Latoya Underwood, both of Lancaster, South Carolina; four sons, Jeremy McPhearson(Jackie) of Baltimore, Maryland, Lamont McPhearson (Tamsyn) of Charleston, South Carolina, Eric McPhearson II (Heather) of Bremerton, Washington, and Jesse McPhearson (Amy) of Matthews, North Carolina; and one brother, Jerel McPhearson(Lisa) of Harrison Township, Michigan, ten grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, a niece, cousins other relatives and friends.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and dedication to family that will be cherished by all who knew him.
