Ernest L. Witherspoon, humbly bowed to God’s will and peacefully entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 8, 2023 in Lancaster, South Carolina surrounded by the love of family. A son of the late Willie Frierson and the late Lola Bell T. Ernest accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age and was reared in a home with Christian values. He was a member of Pleasant Plain Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent.
Ernest was united in holy matrimony to Geneal Drakeford Witherspoon for many happy years.
He was educated in the Mecklenburg County School District and attended West Charlotte Senior High School. Ernest worked many years and was employed by United States Postal Service as a truck driver before retiring.
Ernest was passionate about everything he did. He enjoyed life and looked forward to helping anyone in need. He enjoyed fishing, cooking and boating. However, his greatest passion was spending time with family. To know him was to love him and he will be missed by all.
