Mrs. Evelyn Stevenson Cooper, age 77, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at her home in Lancaster, South Carolina. Born on July 2, 1948, in Lancaster, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Bennie G. Crockett and the late Ruby Fleming Crockett.
Evelyn was a faithful member of Faith Hope and Victory Christian Church. She was a proud graduate of Barr Street High School, Class of 1966. She found joy in reading and yard work and was known for her caring spirit, quiet strength, and love for her family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories four sons: Gary Stevenson (Audrey) of Lancaster, SC, Ricky Stevenson of Lancaster, SC, Odell Stevenson Jr. of Maryland, and Carlos James Cooper (Brenda) of Lancaster, SC; one sister, Ruby Nell Davis of Lancaster, SC; ten grandchildren: Clintess Benson, Sharquita Stevenson, Sierra Stinnett, Lyric Pettaway, Cheyenne Quarless, Bria M. Cooper, Charles Hunter (Sharrika), Ricky Stevenson Jr., Gary Stevenson II, and Odell Stevenson III; and five great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Lilly Baster of Charlotte, NC, and Paulette Crockett of Lancaster, SC; along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Harold Edwards, Bennie K. Crockett, and Teddy Crockett.
Though she has departed this earthly life, her love and memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
