Evelyn Blackmon, 90, peacefully passed away on August 30, 2024. Born on May
12, 1934 in Lancaster, South Carolina, to the late James B. Blackmon and the late
Mary Grier Blackmon.
Evelyne accepted Christ at an early age and joined David Stand AME Zion
Church.
She was educated in Lancaster County School System. She was employed as a
Food Preparer at YMCA, Charlotte, NC and retired after many years of dedication.
She embraced life and loved to help others and would go above and beyond to
provide support regardless of the need. She had a kind, gentle and fun-loving spirit
with a smile. Cooking and spending time with her family brought her great joy.
However, her greatest passion was being with friends and family laughing, eating
and having fun just being among each other. To know her was to love her and she
was loved by many.
