Francesca Alexander

With love and remembrance, the Alexander, Marsh, and Clyburn families celebrate the home-going of our dearly loved Francesca Sowell Alexander.
Affectingly known as Fran, Mrs. Alexander was born on May 22nd, 1955 to the late Mrs.Ruth Marsh and the late Mr. Joe F. Blackmon.
She peacefully returned to heaven on Wednesday March 1st, 2023.
Mrs. Alexander was a 1973 graduate of Lancaster High School. She was extremely gifted academically. She also participated in B-Band, the Drama Club, Soul Club and Basketball Team. She was a former employee of Springs Industries.
Fran thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family and reading her Bible. She was known by all to be a kind hearted and loving mother, sister, aunt and friend.
She was married to the late Mr. Melvin L. Alexander and to this union, they were the proud parents of three sons. She later became the grandmother of six beloved grandchildren.
Francesca is survived by two sons - Melvin D. Alexander and Derrick L. Alexander; six grandchildren-Martin Jr, Johnathon, Elijah, Amari, Jeremiah, and Brandon; two brothers-Charles Blackmon and Michael Marsh; two sisters-Ester Ruth and Susan Marsh; her Alexander in-laws- OC (Clemistine), Shirley, Yvonne (Roy), Wilbert Sr, Ollie, Sidney Ray (Etta), Zelma, and Ervin (Charlie), a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mrs. Alexander was preceded by her parents, husband Melvin L. Alexander, son Martin C. Alexander and brothers Larry and Eugene.
