Gerald Jerome Grier, a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, peacefully entered eternal rest on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at MUSC. Born on February 3, 1972 in Lancaster, SC, Gerald was known for his warm spirit, infectious laughter, and the joy he brought to everyone around him. He was the son of the late Robert Grier Sr. and Doris Strothers Grier.
He accepted Christ at an early age and was educated in the Lancaster County School District and was employed as a machine operator for many years.
Gerald loved spending quality time with his family and friends, creating countless cherished memories, especially with his great-nieces and great-nephews, who held a special place in his heart. A devoted fan of football, he could always be found cheering on his favorite team, the New York Giants, whether from the comfort of his home or among fellow fans.
Gerald is survived by his mother, Doris Strothers Grier of Lancaster, SC, two sisters, Pamela Cureton of Shelby, NC, Crystal Grier of Lancaster, SC, two brothers, Robert Lee Grier Jr. and Telly Grier both of Lancaster, SC, three special aunts, Phyllis E. Patterson of Lancaster, SC, Linda Woods, Therisa Woods both of Chester, SC. special friends, Ronald Stevens, Charles Evans, Chuck McCain, Yasheen Truesdale and a host of loving relatives and friends who will miss his presence deeply.
Gerald's legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Grier Sr., aunt, Brenda Woods.
