Gordon Thompson, Sr., age 64, peacefully passed away on July 15, 2025. Born on July 12, 1961, in Lancaster, South Carolina, he was the beloved son of the late Clayton Thompson, Sr, and the late Nannie Edna Shannon.
Gordon was educated in the Lancaster County School System and proudly graduated with the class of 1979 from Lancaster High School. He was united in marriage to Debra Chavis Thompson, and together they built a life grounded in love, family, and faith.
Gordon had a deep love for his family and took great joy in spending quality time with them. He had a passion for driving, especially when behind the wheel of his Corvette. He will be remembered for his easygoing nature, his loyalty to those he loved, and the quiet strength he carried through life.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Debra Chavis Thompson of Savannah, Georgia; two sons, Gordon Thompson, Jr., of Rock HIII, South Carolina, and Demarcus Thompson of Fort Mill, South Carolina: one daughter, Tiffany Bracey (Mario) of Camden, South Carolina; a sister, Vickie Moten (Alphonso) of Charlotte, North Carolina; two brothers, John Earl Thompson (Anita) and Kenny Thompson (Elaine), both of Lancaster, South Carolina: cight grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces , nephews, cousins, close family, and friends.
Gordon was preceded in death by his belored daughter, Larisha Sharell Thompson, whose memory be carried in his heart every day.
Though he is no longer with us in the physical sense, Gordon's legacy of love, family, and strength will live on in all those who had the privilege to know and love him.
