Haloway “Hal” George Craig
Hal Craig, 76, of Richburg, SC, passed away Friday, September 6, 2024. He was born November
10, 1947 in Montreal QC, the son of the late Norman Knight Craig and Ethel Husband Craig.
Hal’s hobby and favorite pastime was to work on and talk about his 1953 Jaguar XK-120 FHC.
Hal enjoyed working on any vehicle with an engine. He was also skilled and in the planning,
construction, foundation up, of our two car garage, a shed, deck, fences etc.. He relaxed by
listening to jazz and classical music, Hal served in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1975
aboard the USS Barbel SS 580. Hal worked for Bowater for 22 years, retiring in 2012.
Hal is survived by his wife Lonnie Gail Craig and son Scott Hadley Craig of Richburg, SC; brothers
Norman Craig of Virginia, VA, Bruce Craig and wife Holly of Ridgewood, NJ, Wayne Craig and
wife Karen of Palmyra, VA and ten nieces and nephews. In addition to parents, he was
preceded in death by his sister Norma “Lynn” Craig Robare.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Plant a Tree or the charity of your
