Harriet Cloud Garris, a beloved mother, grandmother, and devoted community member, passed away on February 20, 2025, at the age of 72. Born to the late Fred Cloud Sr. and the late Levolia Walker Cloud, Harriet grew up with a strong sense of family and faith that carried through her entire life. A proud graduate of Lewisville High School, Harriet later became an active member of Union Ezell AME Zion Church, where she faithfully served on the Stewardess Board.
Harriet enjoyed life to the fullest, finding joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was known for her love of dining out, dancing, and watching her favorite basketball team, the Golden State Warriors. Her positive spirit, infectious laughter, and vibrant personality left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
After retiring from a dedicated career at Duracell, Harriet continued to contribute to her family and community with the same enthusiasm and care she always showed. She was married to Earl Garris, and together they shared many years of love, laughter, and mutual support.
Harriet is survived by her loving husband, Earl Garris; her daughters, Cindy Garris, Veronica Garris, Erica Garris all of Lancaster, SC, a son, Tony Cloud of Fort Lawn, SC, two brothers, Carlton Cloud of Winnsboro, SC, Ricky Cloud (Denise) of Great Falls, SC, a sister, Pamela Crawford (Jerry) of Lancaster, SC, three grandchildren, Kiara Cloud, Keona White, Braylon Garris, great grandchild, Layla James, brothers-in-law, James Garris (Mae), Bobby Joe Garris (Glenda), Willie Garris, all of Lancaster, SC, David Wright of Dayton, Ohio, sisters-in law, Ella Ree Funderburk of Charlotte, NC, Barbara Garris, Hattie Garris Coleman both of Lancaster, SC god brother, James Noland Cloud, special cousins, Debbie Howze (Raised like a sister), Bernadette Canty, special friends, Jenesta Stewart, Virginia Perry, Sandy Mackey, Vivian Crockett, Paulette Washington, Matiene Lowery, Lamont Twitty and a host of other family members, friends, and church family members who will remember her with deep affection.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Cloud Jr. and sister, Brenda Hancock.
