Heyward Anthony Crawford Jr., 73, entered into rest on May 8, 2026. He was born on August 2, 1952, in Lancaster, to the late Heyward Crawford and the late Wanda Mae Hammond Crawford.
Heyward was a man of Christian faith and a proud graduate of Barr Street High School, Class of 1970. He was known as a hardworking man of many trades, especially for his talents as a carpenter and painter. Through his craftsmanship and dedication, he touched the lives of many throughout the community.
He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Donna Curry of Rock Hill and Crawford Benjamin of Pennsylvania; five brothers, Alfred Donald Crawford of Florida, John Phillip Crawford of Atlanta, Cleveland Crawford (Sherrie) of Charlotte, Hugh Walter Crawford (Wanda) of Lancaster, and Darren Crawford (Shantelle); one sister, Mary Mobley Crockett (Lawrence) of Monroe; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Rebecca Crawford, and his brother, Michael Lewis Crawford.
Heyward will be remembered for his faith, his skilled hands, and the love he shared with his family and friends.
