James Williams Obituary

James Michael Williams, affectionately known and loved by many, was born on February 3, 1967, in Chester, South Carolina, to Flossie Chesley and the late Johnny James Brown. He departed this earthly life on May 8, 2026.

James was united in holy matrimony to Angela Witherspoon Williams, the love of his life. Their bond was one filled with devotion, love, and unwavering support.

He was a faithful and dedicated member of Mt. Ararat AME Zion Church, where he gladly accepted his responsibilities and faithfully served on the Usher Board. James was also a proud member of First Ezekiel Lodge #37 Order of the Masonics.

James graduated from Lewisville High School in Richburg, South Carolina. He later became employed at Berry Plastic, where he worked diligently as a packer. Known for his warm spirit and caring heart his passion was collecting flowers and caring for them. James truly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, creating memories that will forever be treasured.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his devoted wife, Angela Williams of Lancaster, South Carolina; one son, Shaquan Allen (Honastasia) of Florida; five sisters, Tymeria Elder (Lamonte) of Lancaster, South Carolina, Nekita Sandlin (Jocquez), of Lancaster, South Carolina, Soyini Hicklin of Charlotte, North Carolina, Sigredda Davis (Tony) of Rock Hill, South Carolina, and Rachel Corbitt of Garner, North Carolina; four brothers, Kelvin Williams of Richburg, South Carolina, Rico White of Great Falls, South Carolina, Malcolm Brown (Porsha) of Lancaster, South Carolina, and Timothy Barber of Great Falls, South Carolina; sisters-in-law, Karen (Nelson) Chambers and Ruby Witherspoon, both of Monroe, North Carolina; brother-in-law, James Clyburn of Monroe, North Carolina; mother-in-law, Rosa Polk of Monroe, North Carolina; godparent, Gloria Grafton of Fort Lawn, South Carolina; two beloved grandchildren; Jirah and Cairo and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny James Brown, and two brothers, Dennis Williams and Bertram Brown.

James Michael Williams will forever be remembered for his kindness, dedication, gentle spirit, and the love he shared with everyone blessed to know him. His legacy of faith, love, and family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
