Jarvis Uriah “Rambo” Shannon was born on February 11, 1987, in Lancaster, South Carolina. He departed this life on January 15, 2026, in Lancaster, South Carolina.
Jarvis was the beloved son of Rick Nelson and Greta Shannon. He attended Greater Frazier AME Zion Church, where he nurtured his faith. He was a graduate of Lancaster High School, Class of 2006, and was employed with Tyson Foods.
Jarvis embraced life fully and was well known for his love of the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and cherished the time spent with family and friends. Affectionately known as “Rambo,” he will be remembered for his strong spirit, warm heart, and the love he shared with those around him.
Left to cherish his precious memories are his parents, Rick Nelson and Greta Shannon of Lancaster, SC; three sisters, Qorkesha Wright (Jason), Ja’Quita Ross, and Rickell Nelson, all of Lancaster, SC; his grandmother, Doretha Shannon of Lancaster, SC; uncle, Dakova “Bug” Shannon, aunts, L. Perry of Winston-Salem, NC, Sarah Duvall of Maryland, Mary Lib Cunningham, Chris Nelson, Eva Nelson, Matt Nelson, Earline, and Bettye Montgomery; friends of the family, Tony Harris, Dunk Cloud, Ms. Pat, and Bobby Lewis; along with a host of cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
Jarvis was preceded in death by his brother, John Dee Nivens, and his grandmother, Fanny Nelson.
