Jethro Lawrence Brown Jr.

Mr. Jethro Lawrence Brown Jr., affectionately known as "Boy Baby," departed this life on June 4, 2026, in Lancaster, South Carolina. He was born on January 25, 1953, in Lancaster, South Carolina, to Katie L. Brown and the late Jethro Lawrence Brown Sr.

Jethro was a devoted member of Camp Creek AME Zion Church. He received his education in the Lancaster County School District, graduating from Lancaster High School, and later attended York Technical College. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. In his leisure time, he enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memory: one son, Jarvis Travae Talford (Genca) of Edgemoor, South Carolina; his loving mother, Katie L. Brown of Lancaster, South Carolina; one grandson, Carter Anthony; his brother and best friend, Michael B. Brown of Lancaster, South Carolina; and five sisters, Dr. Deborah B. Cureton of Lancaster, South Carolina, Vanessa D. Brown of Columbia, South Carolina, Gloria J. Brown of Charlotte, North Carolina, Pamela K. Brown-Bailey of Lancaster, South Carolina, and Stephanie D. Brown of Simpsonville, South Carolina.

He is also survived by his beloved nieces and nephews: T. Yokima Cureton, Tonique D. Frierson, KellynBrown-Bailey, Keisha L. Brown-Bailey, Kristopher M. Brown-Bailey, and Kellyn J. Brown-Bailey; his devoted caregiver, Anna F. Witherspoon; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.

Jethro's kindness, loyalty, and love for his family will be remembered by all who knew him. His legacy of service, friendship, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
