Joey Wayne Lockhart, Sr.

Joey Wayne Lockhart, Sr. was born on August 29, 1951 to the late Henry Scott and Ruby Hammond Lockhart. He departed this life on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at the age 71.

In October 1971, Joey married Lynda Watts. The children left to cherish his memories are three daughters, Rev. Dr. Aungeto D. Lockhart Sigman (Roland), Vonikki Lockhart both of Columbia, S.C., and Yanana Lockhart of Fort Mill, SC; four sons, Joey Lockhart, Jr. (Earnestine), Reiko Lockhart (Melissa) both of Lancaster, S.C., Joneko Lockhart of Fort Mill, S.C., and Kenana Lockhart of Charlotte, NC; three sisters, Eloise Witherspoon of Lancaster, S.C., Brenda Lockhart of Columbia, S.C. and Debra Lockhart of Charleston, S.C.; two brothers, Claude Lockhart of Lancaster, S.C. and Grady Lockhart (Ann) of Great Falls, S.C., eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  He was preceded in death by three brothers, Dwight, Henry, and Ronnie Lockhart.

Joey Wayne Lockhart, Sr. was a 1969 graduate of Barr Street High School. Following high school, he enlisted into United States Army where he served many locations, including Korea.

In addition to spending time with the family, Joey Wayne Lockhart, Sr. enjoyed watching football and traveling.

Funeral services are 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 22nd at Rose Hill Baptist Church. The Rev. Dr. Waldo Robinson will officiate. The Rev. Roland E.D. Sigman will be the Eulogist.  The burial will be in the church cemetery.
Viewing is 1:00 PM-5:00 PM on Friday, April 21st at Crawford Funeral Home.
