John Stinson Obituary

Larry John Stinson, affectionately known as “DJ Larry Love,” was called from labor to reward on Saturday, April 18, 2026.

Born on January 21, 1969, in Lancaster County, South Carolina, Larry was the beloved adopted son of the late Mr. Waddell Stinson Sr. and the late Annie Mae Belk-Stinson.

Larry was a man full of life, joy, and a deep love for people. He found great happiness in traveling with his extended family, no matter the destination. Known for his adventurous spirit, Larry could often be seen walking wherever he needed to go—only to later ask for a ride with a smile that many will never forget.

Music was Larry’s passion, and as “DJ Larry Love,” he brought energy and excitement wherever he went. He was always ready to be picked up for his next DJ event, doing what he loved most—bringing people together through music. His enthusiasm and dedication made him a familiar and cherished presence in the community.

Larry was also a natural caregiver, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His kindness, generosity, and loving spirit touched countless lives. He was truly loved by many, and his absence leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of all who knew him.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his sister, Betty Morrow of Lancaster, SC; special cousins, Otis (Michelle) Alexander, Lawrence Alexander, Rhonda (Joseph) Toney, Sharquita Stevens, Dean Duncan, Quada (Darius) Wesley, Marcari Alexander, and Ayona Alexander, all of Lancaster, SC; Tiquirria (Anthony) Samuel of Rock Hill, SC; and Laquavis Alexander and Ziquan (Erika) Alexander of Charlotte, NC, Qweonia (Willie) McNeal, Hakeem Alexander both of Lancaster, SC, Zan Alexander of Augusta, GA, Quentin Alexander of Charlotte, NC.

He also leaves behind a special extended family, including the Rucker family, Chris Brown, and the D. Crew, along with a host of other relatives and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Waddell Stinson Jr., a sister, Emily Stinson.

Larry John Stinson will always be remembered for his love of music, his caring heart, and the joy he brought into the lives of others. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
