Johney Ray Gainey, 72, a man of great skill, humble spirit, and a heart full of kindness, peacefully entered eternal rest on March 4, 2025. Born to the late Henry Gainey and the late Edna Mae White, Johney Ray was a gifted musician and took pride in using his hands to create, beautiful music with his drums.
He was united in holy matrimony to Lucille Harris Gainey in which they had many cherished memories together.
Left to cherish fond memories, his wife, Lucille Harris Gainey of Lancaster, SC, two daughters, Angela Coleman and Alethea Harris both of Lancaster, SC, three sons, Beneco P. Harris (Shaunta Frazier), Reco L. Walker, Albert Turner all of Lancaster, SC, a sister, Edna G. Foster of Lancaster, SC, nineteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, five sisters-in-law, Vernell Crawford, Lisa H. Davis (Ronnie), Joan H. Wade, Donna Heath all of Lancaster, SC, Reta Mae Jones of Rock Hill, SC, Clarence Alexander of Lancaster, SC, special friends, Patricia T. Harris, Okiki Elder, Alice Mae Blackmonand a host of family and devoted friends.
