Kay Frances Baker Duncan, age 88, peacefully departed this life on July 18, 2025 in Lancaster. South Carolina. Born on September 14, 1936, in Lancaster to the late Buster Ghent and Grace Baker Harrish, Kay was a woman of deep Christian values whose life was marked by love, kindness, and quiet strength.
Kay was united in marriage to the late Veld Duncan Jr, with whom she shared a devoted and loving partnership. Together, they built a life grounded in faith. family, and mutual respect.
A gentle soul with a joyful spirit, Kay enjoyed life's simple pleasures. She loved to doodle, work on puzzles, and take rides around town, especially admiring the beauty of nature and the local scenery. Shopping trips and little adventures brought her much happiness, often accompanied by a cheerful smile and contagious laughter.
She was a loving and supportive mother to her sons: John Richard Duncan (Joann), Guy Christopher Duncan (Janice), and Scott Veld Duncan, all of Lancaster, SC. Her legacy also lives on through her nine beloved grandchildren, a special granddaughter, Samantha Kay Duncan and five precious great-grandchildren.
Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Veld Duncan Ir.; two sons, Ricky Duncan and Chris Duncan; and her dear sister, Ms. June Baker.
To know Kay was to know love, laughter, and light.
She will be remembered for her nurturing spirit, quiet strength, and the warmth she brought to all who knew ber. Her family and friends take comfort in knowing she is now at peace, reunited with her loved ones in the arms of the Lord.
