Larry Thomas Bufford

Larry Thomas Bufford, 72, of Lancaster, South Carolina, passed away on September 14, 2025. He was born on March 19, 1953, in Lancaster, to the late Celeste Mungo Bufford and the late Robert Bufford.

Larry was reared in a Christian home and joined Sand Hill Baptist Church at an early age. In adulthood, he became a member of Upper Room of Jesus Outreach Tabernacle. He was educated in the Lancaster County School District and was a proud 1970 graduate of Hillside High School. He later retired as a Machine Operator with Springs Industries.

Larry’s life was filled with love for his family and friends. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit and the bonds he shared with those closest to him.  Known for being good with his hands, Larry had a gift for repairing just about anything, a talent that reflected both his patience and skill

He is survived by his daughter, Dr. Brittany B. Rice of Richmond, KY; his sister, Brenda Bufford Barnes (John) of Heath Springs, SC; his sister-in-law, Susan Bufford of Charlotte, NC; a niece, Jana Jones; a nephew, Keshawn Jones; a great-nephew, MyroneBlair; a great-niece, Chyanisee Blair; and a host of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Bufford.

Larry’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
