Lilly B. Johnson transitioned from this life on March 20, 2026, in Fort Washington, Maryland.
Born on June 5, 1957, in Lancaster, South Carolina, she was the beloved daughter of the late Ira Johnson and the late Floree Burthey. Lilly was a proud 1975 graduate of Lancaster High School and a devoted member of Bright Light Baptist Church during her years in South Carolina, prior to relocating to Maryland.
Lilly dedicated many years of service as an Assistant Manager with Harris and Teeter until her retirement. She was known for her strong work ethic, kindness, and commitment to excellence in all she did.
She was united in marriage to Joseph Johnson, and together they shared a life rooted in love and companionship.
Lilly embraced life fully and found joy in the simple, meaningful moments. She had a special love for nurturing her precious plants, spending cherished time with family and friends, and engaging in heartfelt conversations with her sister catching up on hometown news. Her warm spirit and gentle presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and treasured memories that will forever live in the hearts of her family and friends. her husband Joseph Johnson of Lancaster, SC, sister, Cindy B. Frazier of Lancaster, SC, nieces, Choquita Davis, Jamine Frazier both of Lancaster, SC and Takarsha Ruppel (Joshus) of Baltimore, MD, nephews, Wayne Davis and Kristian Frazier both of Lancaster, SC, and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Burthey.
