Loretta Cunningham Duncan

Loretta Cunningham Duncan, 82, of Lancaster, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on October 28, 2025. She was born on January 7, 1943, in Lancaster, SC, to the late Shedrick Cunningham and the late Janie Champion.

Loretta accepted Christ early in life and was a faithful member of Rock Hill Baptist Church. She was educated in the Lancaster County School District and proudly graduated from Barr Street High School, where she developed a love for home economics and cosmetology. Loretta later enjoyed a long career working in hospitality at The Carriage Inn and The Wagon Wheel in Fort Lawn, South Carolina.

She was united in marriage to the late Robert L. Duncan, and together they shared a life centered around family and love.

Loretta enjoyed cooking large meals for her family during the holidays and was especially known for her beautiful decorating. She loved creating a warm, inviting home and could often be found rearranging her living space to make it cozy and full of love. Her family will always remember her sense of style, her nurturing spirit, and the joy she put into making special occasions unforgettable.

She leaves to cherish her memory: one son, Michael Duncan (Michelle) of Lancaster, SC; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister-in-law, Rositta Hough, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Duncan; one daughter, Christine Duncan; two sons, Warren Lee Duncan and Anthony Duncan; three sisters, Beatrice Graham, Levetrice Hughes, and Barbara Ann Thompson; and four brothers, Osles Cunningham, L.C. Cunningham, G.C.

Loretta's loving presence, her warm hospitality, and her devotion to family will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
