Lucille (Williams) Latta

Mrs. Lucille Williams Latta peacefully entered eternal rest and went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, while receiving hospice care at Lakeside Health and Rehabilitation in Huntersville, North Carolina.

Born on September 1, 1935, she was the beloved daughter of the late John Arthur Williams and Corrie Mobley Williams.

Lucille received her education in the Lancaster County School System and attended Barr Street High School in Lancaster, South Carolina. At an early age, she joined Steele Hill A.M.E.

Zion Church, where she developed a strong foundation of faith that remained with her throughout her life.

She was united in holy matrimony to the late Nathaniel Latta, who preceded her in death.

Lucille was a dedicated employee of Lance, Inc. in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she worked faithfully until her retirement.

A loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Lucille found great joy in working in her garden and sharing its harvest with family, friends, and neighbors. She also had a special love for flowers and took pride in tending to them. Her kindness, generosity, and nurturing spirit touched the lives of many.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: one son, Chris Latta; three daughters; Margie Rena Morgan, Barbara Ann Dixon (David), and Denise Oliver (Eric) all of Charlotte, North Carolina; one sister, Marion Adams of Charlotte, North Carolina; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.

Though she has departed from our sight, her legacy of faith, love, and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
