Mary Ruth Wade, 80, peacefully passed away on August 19, 2024. Born on
December 27, 1943 in Lancaster, South Carolina, to the late Lewis Stewart and the
late Roberta “Bert” Wade Stewart.
“Mae Ruth” as she was affectionally called accepted Christ at an early age and
joined David Stand AME Zion Church.
She was educated in Lancaster County School System and graduated from Barr
Street High School. She was employed as a Personal Care Assistant and retired
after many years of dedicated home health service.
She embraced life and loved to help others and would go above and beyond to
provide support regardless of the need. She had a kind, gentle and fun-loving spirit
with a smile. Cooking and spending time with her dog Max brought her great joy.
However, her greatest passion was being with her family, laughing, eating and
having fun just being among each other. To know her was to love her and she was
loved by many.
Left to cherish these and other memories are seven sisters, Patricia “Pat” Wilson,
Deborah Stewart, Linda Harris, Joyce Stewart, Kathy Stover (John), Denise
Anderson (Andull), Catrina Moore (MacArthur Nelson) all of Lancaster, SC, one
brother, Eric Moore of Lancaster, SC, Best Friend, Barbara Murphy of Yonkers,
New York.
