Michael Moore Obituary

Michael Reginald "Mickey" Moore was the third born child of the late Robert Scott Moore, Sr and the late Ophelia Jones Moore on June 6, 1953, in Washington, DC. His life journey came to an end on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at the age of 72 as he peacefully bowed to the call of Almighty God.

Mickey, as he was affectionally know by all, spent most of his life in Washington, DC where he graduated from high school and then served in the United States Army until 1979. He later joined and was Baptized at Maple Springs Baptist Church in Capitol Heights, MD by Rev. C.A. McDonald, Sr. Mickey served the U.S. Department of Agriculture performing as a Program Analyst for several years. He enjoyed listening to a variety of music, bragging and joking about professional sports and spending time with family and friends. In 2005. following his heart and newfound love, Michael relocated south to Van Wyck, South Carolina. Mickey continued his love of music, enjoying family, connecting with his Lancaster cousins and making new friends while staying in contact with old friends from the DC and MD areas.

Michael was preceded in death by his loving parents; one older brother, Allison J. "Joe" Moore, and special friend, Karen Brown.

Mickey leaves to cherish fond memories: his oldest brother, Robert Scott "Bobby" Moore, Jr of Indianapolis, IN; his only baby sister, Annette "Boo" (Ronald) Moore Powe of Camp Springs, MD; his son, Gene Brown of Bowie, MD; his devoted partner, Sarah Thompson of Van Wyck, SC; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, Mickey will be missed but always remembered by his tall statue, for his loving heart and caring spirit. The battle has been fought, and the victory is now won.
