Nargretta Ann Jackson, humbly bowed to God’s will and peacefully entered into
eternal rest on Wednesday October 2, 2024 in Lancaster, South Carolina. A
daughter of the late Otis Jackson and the late Barbara Hood was born
September 9, 1969 in Lancaster County, South Carolina.
Nargretta was married to Theodore Overton for many years.
She was reared in a Christian environment and spent most of her adolescent and
teenage years in Kershaw, SC as well as in the state of New York.
Nargretta graduated from Andrew Jackson High School and attended Clinton
College in Rock Hill, SC. She enlisted in the United States Army where she
faithfully served for nine years. During her deployment she toured Somalia and
Kuwait. She happily retired from Fort Stewart in Hineville, GA.
She loved traveling, spending time with her family, cooking and music. She was
passionate about making sure she expressed her love. She will be greatly
missed by all who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish loving memories are her husband, Theodore Overton, a son, Anthony
Jackson of Kershaw, SC, two daughters, Quisha Jackson of Rock Hill, SC, Narshanti
Jackson of Lancaster, SC, a brother, Kirk Jackson (Kiki) of Lancaster, SC, a grandchild,
mother figure, Bonita Jackson of Bronx, NY, mother-in-law, Edna Whidbee.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Chambers
