Parnell Strain, Sr., age 75, peacefully transitioned from this life on November 30, 2025. He was born on July 25, 1950, in Lancaster, South Carolina, to the late Willie Late and the late Malean Phillips.
A man of quiet strength, steady hands, and a devoted heart, Purnell built his life on hard work, love, and family. He was married to his beloved wife, Annie Ruth Strain, who stood faithfully by his side throughout life’s journey. Purnell retired after many dedicated years working as a logging truck driver and in construction, fields where he was known for his reliability, strong work ethic, and unwavering commitment.
Parnell enjoyed life’s simple pleasures—casting a line by the water, attending truck shows and car shows, and spending meaningful time with those he loved. His warm presence, gentle spirit, and love for the open road will always be remembered.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his daughter, Carolyn “Torise” Cauthen of Savannah, Georgia; stepdaughter, Kizz Drew of Lancaster, South Carolina; two sons, Parnell Strain, Jr. and Donald Michael Strain, both of Lancaster, South Carolina; and his stepson, Andrew Belton of Lancaster, South Carolina. He is also survived by two sisters, Susie Bennett of Lancaster, South Carolina, and Lillie Mae Deamus of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; one brother, Henry Strain of Lancaster, South Carolina; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three step-granddaughters; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Though he is no longer with us in body, Parnell Strain, Sr.’s legacy of dedication, kindness, and love will continue to live on through all who knew him.
