Rachel B. Cuff was born February 20, 1942 to the late Greenie Bush & Rosa Sumter Bush in Hopkins, South Carolina. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, wife and dedicated educator.
Rachel obtained her Bachelor's Degree from Benedict College and her Master’s Degree from William Paterson University. Her educational career started at Paterson Public School #13 as a fourth grade teacher, Vice - Principal at Paterson Public School #28 and finally she retired as Principal from Edward Kilpatrick Elementary School.
A passionate advocate for Education, Rachel dedicated her life to shaping young minds & fostering a love for learning. Her career spanned 30+ years, during which she inspired countless students & colleagues. She believed that education was the foundation for a brighter future & worked tirelessly to ensure every child had access to quality learning.
Beyond her role as an educator, Rachel was a community leader actively involved in organizations such as a lifetime member of NAACP also Youth Advisor for the youth chapter as well as ACT-SO. She was a 4-H Club advisor as well. Her commitment to social justice & youth development was unwavering & she worked diligently to uplift those around her, instilling values to her family and beyond.
As a devoted wife to Paul Cuff she shared a partnership built on respect & shared dreams. Together they created a warm & nurturing home filled with laughter, learning & most importantly love.
As a grandmother she brought joy to her grandchildren & great grandchildren's lives. Offering wisdom, love & a legacy of kindness that will be cherished for generations to come. Her warmth & laughter will be profoundly missed.
Rachel was predeceased by her parents, Greenie & Rosa Bush, her brother’s Jessie Bush & Odell Bush, her sister’s Hagar Harris, Mary Jane Bush, Marthan Bush, Estelle Brown & Louise Bush.
She is survived by her daughter Valerie Jones (Bobby) of Paterson, NJ, Step-son Chris Cuff (Wanda),of Florida, Sister Lily Thompson (Lever) of Columbia, S.C. Grandsons, Cori Noble (Nicole) of Montvale, NJ, Divad Durham of Paterson, NJ,& Bobby Jones III of Augusta, GA Great Grandchildren; Malakhi Noble, Leila Durham, Noah Noble & Amari Durham. Godson Kendall Dawson. Many other family members & friends who were touched by her life. Special thanks to Helen Sarvis (Paterson), Sheree (Columbia) Caregivers. Special thanks to these special angels, Alva, Ann, Carrie,Olivia & Verta for your unwavering love, support & friendship.
She is now with her other three golden girls Cynthia Davenport, Betty Simmons & Beverly Woolfolk.
Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her & her legacy will continue to inspire future generation
