Richard Green Sr.

Richard Stephen Green Sr., son of the late Elsie DeGroat and James Green, departed this life on Friday May 12, 2023, after complications from Alzheimer’s at Carlyle Senior Care in Blackville, SC. 

Born July 23, 1940, in Staten Island New York ,Mr. Green worked as a Maintenance Supervisor for Midtown Square Mall in Charlotte, NC until he retired in 1998.

Mr. Green was a member of the Ramapough Lenape Indian Nation. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and deer hunting.

Cherish memories are shared by his first wife Beatrice Briggs and their seven children, Ronald  Briggs (Alana) of Edwardville, Pennsylvania, Rena Briggs of Kingston, Pennsylvania,  Theodoreen Green of Larksville,  Pennsylvania, Richard Green II of Copperas Cove, Texas, Asia Green, Shawnee Green and Monique Green all of Staten Island New York and three children with his second wife, Richard Green III of Kershaw, South Carolina, LaShone Green of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Jennifer Sanders (Darryl) of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; one sister Dorothy Bellamy of Dayton, Ohio, and one brother James Nixon of Kissimmee, Florida; thirty eight grandchildren; and eighteen great grand children and a host of nephews, nieces and other beloved relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, Theodoreen Carter, Elsie Bellomy, Gwendolyn Flanders, and Margaret Dotts and his second wife of thirty-six years Yvonne B Green.
