Robert Thompson Obituary

Mr. Robert Louis Thompson, 81, entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Atrium Health Cabarrus in North Carolina.

Born on June 19, 1945, in Lancaster, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Benjamin Curtis “B.C.” Thompson and the late Ocemae Clinton Thompson.

Robert was a graduate of Hillside High School in Heath Springs, South Carolina. He was a former member of a Masonic Lodge and was known for his warm spirit, strong work ethic, and love for family and friends. He enjoyed watching Western movies, reminiscing with friends, repairing trucks and automobiles, dancing, and worshiping God. His life was marked by his willingness to lend a helping hand and his ability to bring joy and laughter to those around him.

He leaves to cherish his memory, four sons: Maurice Thompson, Ryan Thompson of Hewitt, NJ, Robert L. Banks, and Tavares Thompson of Englewood, New Jersey; five daughters: Bridgette Thompson Laney (Scott) of Lancaster, South Carolina, Sandra Brinson (Atticus) of Raleigh, North Carolina, Tashanda Ratliff (Jerri) of Hurt, Virginia, Tara Thompson of Granite Quarry, North Carolina, and Tyeasha Thompson of Kannapolis, North Carolina.

He is also survived by two sisters, Lillian T. Rice of New York and Emma Eversley (Bentley) of Charlotte, North Carolina; two brothers, James Curtis Thompson of Heath Springs, South Carolina, and CleotisThompson (Gloria) of Lancaster, South Carolina; twenty grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his brother, Johnnie Ray Thompson, and his brother-in-law, Robert Rice Jr.

Robert's legacy of faith, love, friendship, and dedication to family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Though he has departed from this earthly life, his memories will continue to inspire and comfort all who were blessed to share in his journey.

"Well done, good and faithful servant."
