Sammie Lee Anthony humbly bowed to God’s will and entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 8, 2025 in Kershaw, South Carolina. The son of the late Leroy Anthony and the late Gussie Carter Anthony was born February 18, 1960 in Kershaw, South Carolina
Sammie converted at an early age and joined Mt Zion Baptist Church in Heath Springs, South Carolina.
Sammie was educated in the Lancaster County School District. He also studied Mechanical Engineering/Medical Imaging Equipment Technology at York Tech and graduated from ECPI University in 2010 with an Associates Degree. Sammie made the Dean’s list twelve times, Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society High Academic Leadership. He also served on the Waters Martial Arts Team where earned his black belt First Degree. He was employed at Cooley Group for thirteen years.
Sammie embraced life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved trips to the mountains, grilling and sitting back watching western shows. He was always willing to help whether it was family and friends. To know him was to love him and he was loved by many.
Left to cherish precious memories are his wife, Larriette Anthony of Kershaw, South Carolina, seven daughters, Yon‘Trina Ealy (Travis) of Lancaster, SC, Lashawn (Nikki) Anthony Ratliff of Kershaw, SC, Sammisha Anthony of Charlotte, NC, Tori Anthony of Fort Mill, SC, Samone Anthony (Chris) of Rock Hill, SC, Destiney (Tyrell) Jackson of Lugoff, SC, Angela Wright of Kershaw, SC, three sons, Sammie Anthony Jr. of Kershaw, SC, Tony Wright Jr (Preciouse) of Redding, CA, Nathan Anthony of Charlotte, NC, Seventeen grandchildren, one great grandchild, mother-in-law, Sarah Kelly and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Aaron Anthony, five brothers, Ralph Anthony, Richard Anthony, Willie James Anthony, Freddie Lee Anthony, Grover Anthony, five sisters, Ella Mae Stevenson, Jannie Issiah, Rosa Lee Jackson, Catherine Stevenson, Elizabeth Drakeford
