Susie Mae Strain Bennett entered eternal rest on January 11, 2026. She was born on December 27, 1944, in Union County to the late Willie Strain and the late Malean Phillips Clyburn.
Susie was retired as a health aide, a role she faithfully served in for many years with compassion and dedication. She was a very unique lady who was comfortable being herself, and those who knew her admired her authenticity and warm spirit. Susie loved cooking delicious meals for her family, a joy that brought everyone together. She also enjoyed fishing. going to yard sales, and finding simple pleasures in everyday life. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family and close friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory four sons: Leroy Osborne of Lancaster, SC, Darryl Osborne of Charlotte, NC, Emmett Osborne and Jimmy Osborne, both of Monroe, NC; one daughter, Katie Osborne of Lancaster, SC; one brother, Henry Strain of Lancaster, SC; one sister, Lillie Deamus of Lancaster, PA; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; a special friend, Melzetta Kerley; devoted caregivers, Glenda Harris, Adrienne Stalk, and Tammy Patterson; and a host of other close relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Susie was preceded in death by a son, Danny Ray Osborne; three brothers, Walter Strain, Parnell Strain, Sr., and Willie Strain.
Susie Mae Strain Bennett will be remembered for her loving heart, her individuality, and the joy she brought to all who knew and loved her.
