Teresa Sanders Young, born on October 17, 1959, in Lancaster, South Carolina, departed this life surrounded by loved ones. She was the beloved daughter of the late Raymond Sanders and the late Ebbie Davis.
Teresa was a woman of strength, style, and deep compassion. She was a 1978 graduate of Lancaster High School and dedicated much of her life to public service and advocacy, proudly serving as a sergeant with the South Carolina Department of Corrections and later being appointed as a Guardian Ad Litem for the state of South Carolina, where she stood up for the voiceless and vulnerable with unwavering resolve.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Teresa was known for her impeccable sense of style and her love for dressing beautifully. She brought elegance and grace into every room she entered.
She was a devoted wife to Jerome Young and a loving mother to three daughters: Sabrina Newberry of Charlotte, NC. Courtney Young of Atlanta, GA, and Starr Young of Raleigh. NC. Her legacy continues through her ten cherished grandchildren, Gabriel, Esaias, India, Christian, Brielle, Oyatta, Zenyatta, Saraya, Sevyn and Self who brought immense joy and pride to her life.
Teresa also leaves behind a large and loving family: five brothers-Jerry Sanders of Lancaster, SC, Randy Sanders (Bcatrice) of Covington, GA. James Sanders, Robert Sanders (Mary Ann) both of Lancaster, SC and John Sanders of Charlotte, NC-and four sistors--Acanctle Watts, Linda Green, Margaret Sandors all of Lancaster, SC and Yvonne Sanders of Charlotte, NC.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Richardson, William Raymond Sanders, six sisters, Hattie Massey, Annie Ruth Sandon, Nexada Hayden, Billie Ann Massey, Lottie Mac Sandons, Diane Sanders.
Teresa's presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, strength, and service will live on in all who knew her.
