Willie Grover Nelson

Willie Grover Nelson of Kershaw, SC was called to be with the Lord on
Sunday morning, August 20, 2023. Born to the late James Nelson and the
late Willie Mae Seegars March 1, 1949 in Kershaw County.
Willie accepted Christ at an early age and was reared in a Christian home.
Willie was educated in the Lancaster and Chesterfield County School
Districts where he attended Hillside High School and Carber School in
Bethune, South Carolina. Willie was employed by Dupont in Kenton, NC
until retirment.
Willie was married in holy matrimony to Diane Mayhew Nelson.
Willie was passionate about everything he did. He enjoyed life, family and
community. He enjoyed telling jokes and dancing. However, his greatest
passion was spending time with family and friends and talking about the
bible. To know him was to love him and he will be missed by all.
Left to cherish loving memories are his wife, Diane Mayhew Nelson of
Kershaw, SC, two daughters, Termines Portee (Willie) of Rembert, SC,
Katrina Cornelius (Willie) of Lancaster, SC, a son, Arrick Mayhew (Diane) of
Kershaw, SC, a brother, Connell Beckham, four sisters-in-law, Carolyn
Miller (Billy), Mildred Blair (Randy), Shirley Swaine, Mary Lee Coleman,
Mabel Mayhew, one brother-in-law, Willie James Kirkland, nine
grandchildren, four great grandchildren, special friends, Thronde Drakeford,
Howard Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives
and friends.
